Bulgaria is classified a South Slavic language and is mainly spoken in Bulgaria. The language's closest relative is Macedonian. Bulgarian is the only language in the European Union that uses the kyrillian alphabet. For that reason it is a must that the translator's first language is Bulgarian when doing a translation. Bulgarian is an analytic language, just like English. Today, Bulgarian is placed in the same language group as Romanian, Greek and Albanian.
